Case Study - Kellogg Company UK
| |
The Problem
Production Scheduling Project.
Kellogg's were using a both computerized and manual scheduling methods to plan production and match the output from the 17 line, production facility to the 28 packaging unit options. The manual intervention led to long delays and low production efficiency.
| |
The Solution
Worked with the Production Management team.
Designed and implemented an integrated scheduling system that combined production and packaging line data imported from legacy systems.
Optimization of the production runs, exchange times and packaging runs required that multiple equipment constraint algorithms, inventory data and demand projections were combined and tested against each other to derive the best combination of production and packaging runs for each shift.
